Hi. I’m Liz.

I’m Liz Peel and I’m a Humanists UK approved and accredited celebrant based in Northern Ireland.

Humanist celebrations are built around you. They tell your story.

We’re not confined by religion.  So we describe your relationship – in the way that you want – to the people who care about you both on your wedding day.

And if wee ones are part of your plans we can celebrate the naming of your children in the best way: with friends, family and love.

I’m Liz and I’m here to help you celebrate the way you want.

Love at the Centre

Love is what we celebrate at a humanist wedding or a child’s naming ceremony. And I’ll help you celebrate.

If you’re getting married the great news is that I now perform legal wedding ceremonies – following a recent change in the law in Northern Ireland. See my FAQ for more information.

I’m here to help you and your friends and family to have a wonderful day – with your story at the centre of it.

Where you Want

As a humanist celebrant I focus on celebration of your union or new arrival – in front of those you love. It’s up to you to choose the place. Wherever you choose you can be sure that happiness will be the main theme.

Next Steps…

It’s simple. Just call me or email me and we can get together for a cuppa or glass of wine…and discuss next steps. Get in touch…

A bit about me…

Hello, I’m Liz

I have been married for 25 years. I have two wonderful grown-up children. I live in Lisburn with my husband, Jeff. I’ve two cats…Lily and Lola.

I became a Humanist celebrant a few years ago and join a small band of fellow celebrants here in Northern Ireland.

Hi, I’m Liz Peel

It’s long been my view that, increasingly, couples don’t want religion to be centre-stage on their wedding day. Instead, they want the focus to be on their love and relationship and family bonds.

My role is to act as the celebrant – providing you with the structure, words and emotional engagement that’ll make your day very special and memorable for you and and your guests. And, since the recent change in the law, I can also legally marry you as well – there’s no longer a need for separate registry office proceedings. In short, my aim is to ensure a lovely, memorable day designed around the two of you.

Feed of Love

My 2019 New Year resolution was to get my Instagram account kicked into shape and to showcase pics from my weddings. It might take me a little time . But feel free to follow me using the link below.

Now Legal…

In June, the Court of Appeal in Belfast ruled that humanist marriages must be legally recognised in Northern Ireland following a case taken by model, Laura Lacole, and Republic of Ireland footballer, Eunan O’Kane. Humanist celebrants can now conduct legal marriages in Northern Ireland. Read more.
